US Freedom

last.fm

It’s been a few month that Last.fm have forbidden me to listen to its online radios. That actually made me really sad. And that made the whole scrobbling thing kinda useless by the way.

Yesterday, i learnt that Last.fm didn’t make people pay for the radios in the US, as well as in the UK or in Germany. So, big surprise when i launched the app, everything was working fine! woot!

Last.fm changed their radio’s look on their website, by the way. Pretty neat i have to say =) *takes the most of it before going back to France*

Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Randy Pausch as a kid, dreaming of big dreams

Yesterday, i fell by chance on the book version of Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture he made the 18th of September 2007 at the Carnegie Mellon University.

I discovered this lecture only one year ago by randomly browsing a deviantART artist’s blog (ethe on thousandskies.blogspot.com). So what a coincidence to find that book here and now!

Randy Pausch was a computer science professor at the Carnegie Mellon University, and, as a tradition in this school, teachers were asked to give a final lecture, about their professional journey.

The point is that, at the time when he was asked to do this, Pausch was told that he had just a few months to live, consequently to his pancreatic cancer. So he chose to turn this last lecture into a life lesson for his three children he was going to leave for good. The title of the lecture is, you may have guessed it, Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.

Totally inspiring, i recommend anyone to read this book or to watch his lecture online via the iTunes Store (for free) or via youtube.

Launch

Pahul blog is finally officially launched on this 12 of July.

Visually, it satisfies me for the moment. I’ll just have to find the host name it deserves.

Anyway guys, i hope you’ll enjoy my thoughts and observations =)

Happy reading!
